What it does

The detector you receive

This listing is the Radiacode 103, SKU RC103. The 102, the 110, the 103G, and the Zero are different instruments.

The detector is CsI(Tl), rated 8.4% ±0.3% FWHM, with 30 counts per second equal to 1 µSv/h for Cs-137. Radiacode rates the dose range at 0.01–1,000 µSv/h for Cs-137, with a dose-rate error of ±15% in monitor mode. The energy range on the current 10X-series docs is 0.15–3 MeV. The screen is a 128×48 monochrome display, so you can read the dose rate without a phone. The spectrum view lives in the free app.

The battery is a 3.7 V, 1,000 mAh Li-Pol pack, rated up to 200 hours. Charging is USB-C. The current docs say a charge takes at least 3 hours. Bluetooth connects the detector to the app. The body is 123 × 34 × 18 mm and 65 g (2.3 oz). Protection is IP64. Operating range is −10°C to 45°C (14°F to 113°F).

In the box: the 103 and a USB-C cable. Radiacode’s store page states a 2-year warranty. This is a consumer instrument for dose rate and spectrum. It is not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for an official survey program.
